His mix of the seasons' hottest hues, materials, and silhouettes when combined with his all American style give me flawless fashion envy year after year. Sylvia with Great-Ads explains that this seasons' Tommy Hilfiger ad campaign The Tommy Hilfiger Group, announces its Fall 2013 global advertising campaign, cärpe-díem mañana, featuring The Hilfigers – the beloved all-American family at the heart of the brand’s marketing strategy. Now in its seventh season, The Hilfigers campaign remains the ultimate personification of the preppy heritage and irreverent spirit of the Tommy Hilfiger brand. The campaign is photographed by Craig McDean, styled by Karl Templer and creatively directed by Trey Laird of Laird + Partners. “Collegiate traditions and the preppy, Ivy League look were some of my earliest design inspirations and the starting point for our signature style,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “It was exciting to shoot this campaign at a location that embodies our brand heritage. There’s no better setting to highlight the collegiate prep inspirations, British sartorial influences and rich Anglo fabrics of the Fall 2013 runway collections.” For Fall 2013, a select group of bloggers were invited to the campaign shoot where they were given behind the scenes access to the collection and Fall 2013 shoot. The bloggers were styled in looks from the collection before they were photographed alongside The Hilfigers, integrating these bloggers into the campaign experience and allowing them to develop exclusive content for their websites and social media channels. The bloggers announced the campaign to their global audiences just days before the images broke in September books.
Adding a new layer to the seasonal campaign, Lisa Birnbach, author of the The Official Preppy Handbook, created spirited, individualized head-to-toe descriptions for each character’s unique style that play on brand’s preppy-with-a-twist heritage. The quintessential cast of college characters includes the “Natty Professor,” the “A-Student,” the “Bookworm,” the “Ice Queen,” the “Après Dude,” the “Professional Student,” the “Social Chair,” the “Field Tripper,” the “Alum Prez,” the “Teacher’s Pet” and the “All American.” The head-to-toe images, accompanied by Lisa’s playful depictions, will be included in multi-page inserts in select September books, outdoor advertising and on tommy.com. “The Hilfigers continue to personify the global creative vision for the brand,” said Avery Baker, Chief Marketing Officer for The Tommy Hilfiger Group. “This season we’re incorporating new content elements that celebrate the brand’s history of infusing an unexpected twist to preppy tradition. Lisa Birnbach’s playful depictions of the family’s iconic prep style add further emphasis to the youthful irreverence that has long been at the heart of the Tommy Hilfiger brand, while our global blogger partnerships celebrate the increasingly international outlook of preppy style in a way only Tommy Hilfiger has achieved. The Hilfigers campaign resonates globally with our consumers now more than ever and we are excited to continue bringing fans of the brand engaging, shoppable content each season.” I've been feelin' the active-wear + business chic look a lot lately and decided to give the sneaker trend a try. Y'all, I love this style so much and it's so comfortable... you have to try it out! andddddd here's a look at two of my own skirt and sneaker looks!
This month, the search for Nashville plus size retailers leads us to one of Opry Mill’s newest stores, Torrid. Torrid's collection is inspired by and designed to fit the young, stylish, full figured woman at an affordable price. Having visited Torrid’s website time and time again, I was familiar with the kinds of apparel and accessories they offered and always considered purchasing my clothing there when I felt like investing in an item. In late July, a family friend went shopping out at Opry Mills and she informed me that there was a new store opening called Torrid and she thought I would love it. I thanked her for thinking of me, briefly reminisced about my online shopping experience, and made a note to myself to visit the store. Less than a month after opening, I walked into Torrid and I was blown away. I was presented with an ideal shopping experience, one of which started as I walked through the door. Looking around at the simplistic floor plan and beautifully merchandised displays, and I knew I was where I was supposed to be. I started on my "new store" routine -walking along the walls, feeling the different materials, eyeing everything up and down, giving it a once a through and then circling back to the beginning to inspect each item. In order to put less emphasis on a "number", Torrid has a unique way of sizing their clothing. In store they carry sizes 12/14, 16/18, 20/24 but those sizes are labeled as being a "1", "2", or "3" Online you can purchase items up to a size 28, or "4". Torrid is full of trendy looks that are designed to be very versatile for the everyday woman. Articles of clothing that can easily go from a work day to a night on the town are ideal choices for any shopper and this store is full of them. Unlike other plus-size chains, torrid offers a variety of basics intertwined in the same racks with the latest trends. The smart merchandising shows the customer various ways to pair the trends with the basics, which makes being fashionable that much easier. It’s important to understand that these edgy collections are designed to stimulate self-confidence and encourages women to feel sultry, stylish, and irresistible at any size! Torrid is a one-stop shop for full figured women. Inside of the store, you will find a lingerie corner which houses bras, panties, negligees’, and shape-wear such as Spanx! As you know full-figure women and wide feet, kind of go hand in hand and Torrid's got us all covered! Inside of the store you will find adorable shoes in a variety of colors and styles, lining the walls and hanging on racks, which are all available in sizes 8-12 with both normal and wide widths available. I think we can all agree that denim is one of the most difficult pieces of clothing to shop for and Torrid really does make shopping for jeans a breeze. With an entire wall of choices ranging from boot cut, to super skinny and a team of qualified sales associates ready to help you into the right fit, the hassle of buying jeans stops here Every once in a while I stumble on to something that makes me really excited and this store was certainly one of those things. I still don’t know if I was more thrilled about the belt display or the clearance corner but both are definitely winners in my opinion and so is this store. Look no further then Torrid for fabulous, full figured fashions, here in Nashville!
